![]() ![]() Whether you love em or hate em, the Inquest sure does make some of the best sci-fi looking weaponry. Celebrate the sheer awesomeness of the shield with these insanely cool skins and continue to hold the line in the battlefield! History tells us that shields were tools of war that protected their wielder from mostly lethal blows, projectiles, and could even be a way to prevent the movement of their opponents. So far I had just really been thinking of this as a solo open world build but if it has decent enough damage I may try taking it into some Fractals.īut I have other characters I'd be more likely to do that with.A lot of the weapons in Guild Wars 2 feature a wide variety of offensive skills to put your opponents down for the count, but weapons like the shield offer a more defensive option. I haven't played the Holo really so I didn't know about that. But the long cooldowns on the sword attacks were really killing it. I tried it out last night just against some Forged for the Weekly and it was fun and seems it may be decently powerful. Thanks for pointing out the CD reduction on the auto attack chain. Thank you for actually taking the time to give a reasoned thoughtful response. Everything seems to be judged by raid/strike performance in the community, whether that's what people are playing or not, and it can't compete there. So, it's possible, it's kind of fun, but nobody is going to bring it anywhere. You have to work your butt off as a Scrapper to do what a Herald can by just pressing a few buttons and then standing there, and you're off your quickness generation if you switch to medkit and have to stay in it to heal for more than five seconds. If that's the purpose you're after, it can work, although I'm not sure it's really better than hammer, and you're sacrificing a lot to do it.Īnd, even then, a Herald can pump out quickness for a longer duration by just turning on their maintained abilities and autoattacking, and they're also giving out regen, fury, and might at the same time. The problem is mostly that you start having to use all of those gyros and toolbelt field-generating abilities to keep quickness up instead of being able to use them as needed for their normal purpose it sort of shoots the versatility and reactivity of Scrapper in the foot in favor of being a quickness bot. The leap finisher on sword can be supplemented with the blast finisher on shield, and it all works fine if you use the combo fields that can be generated by your gyros or toolbelt skills. You definitely need as much concentration as you can get. Purge Gyro has a Light field, and its toolbelt has a zero cast time Poison field, which I didn't actually think about before this update.Īs a heals/boon support Scrapper, sword isn't terrible for generating finishers, but if you miss the autoattack 3's CD reduction you start missing quickness windows pretty fast. Truth be told, as a Scrapper apologist, I actually have been learning a LOT about what has fields, what has finishers, and how much they can add to a fight. Healing Turret combos itself with a Water Field/Blast Finisher for detonating it. Thumper Turret alone provides 3 blast finishers, if you count blowing up the turret along with the toolbelt skill. Mace/Shield and Sword don't really do that much for Scrapper, honestly. Would it only be usable in Open World due to lack of DPS compared to the Hammer? Making use of the Gyros and defenses of the Shield. I love the idea of a Sword and Shield brawler Scrapper. ![]() I expect Mace to help make a Quick Heal Scrapper giving Barrier and helping to maintain Quick easily with the single leap and the Shields Blast.īut how will the Sword work with Scrapper? I really dislike the change to the Quickness generation.īut I'm getting very interested in trying to figure out how it would play with the new Weapon Mastery. I have a Scrapper that I thought was interesting but never used very much.
